This thread contains status updates on the Lafayette-Purdue University Airport (KLAF) feed. We also maintain an active, publicly-viewable Twitter account here (http://twitter.com/LAF_LiveATC).

Thanks!

Feed has been up while I am doing some maintenance on its PC. Moving to new location within an hour.

Excellent!

Hello,
I enjoy listening to this feed but it seems to be down for long periods at a time. I live just a couple of miles from the airport and would like to volunteer some help to maintain it. I'm good with computers and home networking. Not sure what other qualifications are needed, or how much time we're talking about. Let me know if I can help.
Thanks,
RussM

Hey Russ,
Thanks for the offer. The feed is located in a Purdue University office, so I don't believe that arrangement would work unless you're a student or faculty member. The extended downtime the last 7 days is due to a lightning- and wind-related power outage we suffered last weekend. In most cases, a simple reboot will restore the feed, but this time something else happened. My schedule and the office hours don't always coincide. When they do (crossing my fingers for tomorrow) I can diagnose the issue further. I will have an answer before I leave for Thanksgiving on Wednesday.

Hi Stu,
The recent storm did lots of damage so the current outage is understandable.
I'm not a faculty member or a student, but I am paying tuition. :-) (I'll likely have kids there for the next 8 years.)
Keep me in mind cuz I'd be happy to help. Looking forward to listening to the feed again. Happy Thanksgiving!

Tell them they need to stick to the 4-year plan ;). I know what you mean :). Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, and thanks for listening.
