Title: KDAY (Dayton, Ohio) Outage
Post by: p69 on April 22, 2012, 05:53:21 PM
A very close lightning strike on the evening of April 20 damaged my home network, killing my router/switch and causing various other issues with the five PCs/laptops on the network. Among the casualties was the KDAY feed. With Dave's help, it has been determined that it is likely the sound card which is the culprit. Dave is sending a spare USB sound device to me (thanks Dave!), and I hope to have it installed and the server reconfigured (again with Dave's help) by mid to late week (April 27).

Sorry to hear about the strike, but very happy to hear that you're going to get it repaired!! Your feed is outstanding! Thanks for providing it.

:-D Yeah! This is one of the cleanest feeds available. Well done, and thanks!

Glad you enjoy it. Hopefully the lightning will look elsewhere for a target in the future.

KDAY will be intermittent Thursday, May 10 and possibly also on Friday, May 11. This is due to an extended power outage which is necessary to allow for significant electrical work at my home.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

In what I hope will be my last posting here for quite some time, KDAY is now back in service.
