The KBVI feed has been down and will continue to be down until July 5, 2006 (tentativly). The college is using a new LAN security protocol and the feed gets knocked off-line after 15 minutes of inactivity on the feed computer. I'm in the process of finding a new feeder site.

How about writing a simple batch utility that creates small network traffic every 10 minutes or so?
There is a good, free Windows batch scheduler that I use on my feed laptop that launches a batch file every 10 minutes that pings my router to ensure the feed is still up (long story as to why I have to do this but it has kept up my feed since about March or so).
I would think something similar would trick that college's new software into thinking there is activity and thereby retaining the connection?

Wow, not a bad idea...I'm good with computers but I'm afraid I don't know much about writing batch files. I would certainly like to keep the feed there though, I spent alot of time maintaining it and I love the way it sounds. I'll email you about this Peter.
