Title: KATL feed status
Post by: byoungblood on September 12, 2009, 11:56:41 AM
KATL feed will be down permanently in the next 2-3 weeks. I have passed my PV at the FAA Academy and will be headed to Memphis Center in about 2 weeks. The feed will remain active until I can get back to my home in Atlanta to take down the antenna, scanner and computer that is running it.

If anyone on the west side of Atlanta wants to duplicate my feed, the frequencies are fairly easy to receive from almost anywhere in the Cobb/Paulding/Cherokee county areas. The approach control transmitter is located at Dobbins AFB, and the Center one is on Mt Oglethorpe, just to the east of Jasper, Ga.

On a positive note, I will probably try to set something up to monitor either Memphis Center or Approach when I move to the Memphis area. It will of course be taking a back seat to my training at the center, so it may be a couple of months before anything happens.

Congrats on your PV and new assignment!  Thanks for providing this feed - we expect to get more coverage in the Atlanta area, hopefully soon.

For now I am delisting the list.

Best of luck up in Memphis!
