Hardware trouble - need to replace the system drive. May take a week or more. Sorry, folks.

Replacement disk drive has been shipped and should arrive in New York tomorrow - hopefully we'll have the feeds back up tomorrow evening or Wednesday.

Thanks, Dave. I know many people enjoy listening...including Myself! Stevie near SEE

thanks for the hard work. this is my fav. feed to listen to! :D

I really enjoy listening to the JFK feeds and can't wait for them to be up and running again! I'm going cold turkey! I do appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into this.

Hate to make you guys go cold turkey :-D
-
I rather roast the turkey first. :-D
I keep myself amused with other feeds and other things whilst you get things sorted. All in your own time. :)

Its looking good now

I have the JFK feed on right now, but I hear nothing. I went to JFK ground, tower, and I'm on NY approach 135.9 now. I still hear nothing.

It'll be back soon...need to make a couple of mixer fixes.

Feed will be up and down for a while tonight...more maintenance.

Dave and Lezam:
Thanks so much for the hard work and persistence on the JFK feeds! Just wanted you to know that it is truly appreciated :-)

JFK down again...looks like a network issue local to the site or the server got unplugged or something.
We're waiting on a local diagnosis.

Some sort of network issue, one of the other computers has been affected as well. Im working on it, hopefully it will be fixed within the next couple of hours.
-
Sorry guys, there was a huge power outage out here that affected long island. I am restarting the unit as we speak.
-
JFK feeds down possibly due to power or network outage.
Hopefully back later today.

Time to install a solid state drive. Talk about quick boot ups !

Want to donate one? :)

I got to deal with my 4 feeds now. All of them now have 10 gig SSDs. Next project will need 3 more SSDs. So, I wll have to pass on your request

How do those things work? Are they using the same connectors as regular IDE or SATA drives? How much do those run for?

I think most of them run natively off SATA. Only truly useful if you need:
- Fast bootup
- Quiet
- Disk access speed
The only potential benefits for LiveATC nodes are:
- fast bootup (debatable whether this is an advantage if the node is up most of the time anyway)
- quiet (this can be a real benefit for nodes inside homes, as Lezam well knows)

There are also SSD's with IDE interfaces and other interfaces. Go to newegg.com or your favorite vendor and just search for SSD.

Yeah, these things are expensive :-o
