MKE PC Crash (again)
« on: December 15, 2005, 08:24:15 UTC »
for the 2nd time the feed has claimed another cheap laptop... I went to power it down and restart it and when it reboots the "Operating system not found"  so the feed is down until further notice, either I find a way to repair it, or have some spare change to buy another cheap laptop to host it.

Sounds like the Master Boot Record (MBR) might have been hosed.  Boot of of a rescue CD or disk and try:

fdisk /mbr

and reboot.

Might fix it.

can seem to be able to run any commands like FDISK, however the PC boots with the boot disk in.. will this last?
