EIDW will be down
« on: February 17, 2008, 10:51:38 AM »
With the best intentions I have found it impossible to keep eidw running while I am  overseas therefore the site will be down for about two weeks until I return in early March

As above, I appreciate the feed and effort to get it running, one of the controllers at EIDW in particular always sounds so happy and helpful, whereas another one sounds a bit P!ssed off all the time  :)

Here's hoping one day the UK law will be amended so we can have some more 'local' (on a global scale..!) feeds to go with the Dublin & Shannon feeds.

Echoing the above - these Irish feeds are badly missed when they are down!!

They are a great complement to my SBS box - watching and listening  8-)

I am so familiar with EIDW that I never bother with a map...but I recommend you look at  www.pilotshop.ie    they have charts  it may cost you a little  ..if you live in Ireland give  Oliver  a call there at  086 8337664.     .....hope this is helpful........how are you getting on with fboweb flight tracking .... Thanks for that, will follow up on that.

As for the fboweb......all I can say is BRILL, espically when EINN is up,you can see where the plane is.I passed on the website to my father and he is hooked as well.

Cheers for that info and the info about the map.

Just on the subject of useing fboweb with EINN feed ..do you notice that fboweb when it is up on the google map does not capture all flights that are heard on the SNN freqs...there seems to be a some flights that are heard on the stream but do not appear on the tracking map...I am not talking about Reach or blocked flights ... I do actually that is why I am still considering getting the Air Nav system but I still do not know enough about it. I must ring the company in England that provide it,I dont think there is a company here in Ireland that provide it,If you do I would appriecate that info.

Take care,

Bogman

Same as myself, know the field of the back of my hand !

Maybe also see the IAA Website for charts at http://iaa.ie or the Dublin Charts can be seen here http://www.iaa.ie/safe_reg/iaip/aip_eidw_charts.htm

M50: Has the Approach (121.100) been taken off because of congestion ?

Cheers for a great feed  :-D

Anyone any idea on the status of the 2 Dublin South frequencies? Is 124.650 gone permanently? Is 120.050 the new frequency or are they still both in use? I've also heard rumours they're using 120.050 as a test Departure frequency and 124.650 as arrivals and enroute, has anyone heard anything else regarding this?

Sorry for all the questions. :-P

Hi m50,

I was wondering if you could help me,or any other  person out there.
I have a hand held scanner, Uniden  UBC92XLT, WHICH I STUPILY DROPPED on to the floor.It is now broken :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

When I turn it on it comes on and works for about 5-10 seconds, then the sound goes. The frequences are still displayed and stop when the frequencey is used but I can not hear it.

I thought it might be the recharageable battries but no cause when I put in alkaline battries  the same thing happens, also when I plug in the mains.

I must have rang every electronic shop and repair service , here in Cork, to see if they could repair it,but no luck.

One Shop said I might have a problem with the speaker ,but I dont know.

Do you or anyone else know of a place here in Ireland so I can get my sacnner repaired,I wll post it to them no problem, but will ring them first to see if can fix it.
Im going cold turkey without it at the moment and it is not nice,Im BORED.

Hope you can help and thanking you in advance,

BOGMAN

The problem with repairs to these scanners is that the repair costs almost as much as a replacement scanner..did you contact any of the Irish web sites that sell scanners to see do they do repairs?

120.050 is the Permanent frequency for Dublin south as Shannon low level when transmitting from the Rosslare transmitters on 124.7 were interfering with 124.650.

It is NOT on Test, it is NOT on Trial as a departures frequency.

Thanks for this useful info...I now have 120-050 up ,and will keep it there. It it interesting to know that there is a Snn transmission from Rosslare...It is well out of my Dublin receiving  capicity>>I have tried unsuccessfully to receive any Snn ground freq...but no success
