Hi,
Well hopefully I should have Dubai up and Running in the later stages of this Month, If not very early next month!
Would you been interested in listening?
Cheers,
Sam
-
DUbai sounds interestin ! Controlling in arabic, i wonder what that sounds like.
-
I'm guessing that they would still use English... :?
-
English is the international language of ATC.
Every controller has to be able to speak it...
They control in English!
irgin
Do you think all the pilots who fly there can speak Arabic? BA? Virgin? A fair few of the Emirates pilots are English and American!
-
No I think you misunderstood me, my understanding is that english is used with traffic that does not speak the locally spoken language (arabic in this case). However with domestic airlines and other airlines based in arabic speaking countries, arabic is used in atc communication whenever possible . Am I correct ?
-
Nope..English is the ATC language!
That has been teh reason of alot of crashes. When the controller isn't speaking English...
:-)
-
Can't wait till Dubai is up and running I have been waiting for a feed from that region since I joined this amazing site.
Hope the feed will be up soon all the best :-)
Regards,
KSA

Well...I'm here,
When the Liveatc website is updated,
I'll bring you it.
Alot of the controllers are English!
The quality won't be perfect until I get my set up problems sorted!
-
I will sure give a try :-)

I think he talks about second language. Like here in Quebec, we can speak french or english with ATCs. I don't think we are the exception !
-
90% of the Controllers are English and American...so I can't see that happening!

My apologies for the delay in responding to
some of the new feeders and in getting feeds
listed. We're at the point where we need to
enhance the underlying web site and how feed
data is stored. More soon on the forums.
-Dave
We're doing the best we can, please be patient.
-
Several days ago you asked us to check the feed...it hasn't been up in days. If you could bring the feed up, we're happy to add it.
Part of whether a feed gets listed is whether it has any stability early on. Experience shows that if a feed isn't up in the early days, it usually goes down and never shows up again. :-)

Well, After Tuesday night, I'm going to be offline for a long time, so I just thought it would be better to listen before I go, then you will be looking forward tilll when It's back!

How long? We'd definitely love to have the feed, but listing it and then having it be off for a long time just invites endless emails from people wondering where it is.
We have enough of those kinds of emails to last a lifetime. :-)
I'd rather wait 'til you're back.
One of the more difficult parts of managing this site is that feeds just vanish, never to be seen again. And it's hard to tell if they'll ever be back. We usually lean toward not de-listing them...just easier that way.
When we have some of the new code online we'll be able to tell when the last time a feed was heard from. After 30 days or so, feeds will simply get de-listed. If the feed returns, it will show up in the listings again.

Well, I'm flying back to England in 10 Hours so...
I imagen 2008, but hey anything can happen...
Anyway, you can have a listen in, to the quality-it's OK not perfect, but you will be able to see.
By the way, Dubai is in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) not Saudi Arabia!
When I Find somewhere to upload it...I will post the link here!

HI GUYS ITS MY FIRST TIME HERE...
I HAVE READ THE TOPIC, and i have a comment about speaking arabic in controling,,, THE ONLY LANGUAGE FOR ATC IS ENGLISH!!! my friend is areall life pilot in middle east airlines(air liban) he could let me go in the cockpit wunever i have flight, i live in saudi arabia, and i fly to dubai and lebanon
and both countries dont use arabic unless :
1-saying hi,,, salam alaykom (peace on u) sabah el ker(good morning) ..... etc, it could be used, or if on ground the pilot wants to request something like : please what runway is in use? he could say that in arabic, but after the IFR is started, only english is used, and result of not using it, is suspension... i am not sure of the case in france, or germany, but i heard that the second language is allowed to be used, specially france... i had flight there, and i heard some pilots talking in frensh...

I think the feed is gone for good, but we'll check with the feeder when we can.
-
Cool!!, sounds good. I wait for more info
-
Dare I say that a lot of RYANAIR 1st Officers do not speak good English, but they 'get by'. (Perhaps thanks to the shear professionalism of the London controllers?)
-
Can we possibly try to get the Dubai ATC feed up & running?? Im sure most LIVE ATC subscribers & iphone owners will agree that the LIVE ATC feed from dubai will be interesting to listen to.
CAN WE PLEASE HAVE IT UP & RUNNING??? PLZ PLZ PLZ!!
-
Can't see this feed coming back anytime soon.an inside source at DNATA tells me that DGCA had located a couple of transceivers near qusais and confiscated them about a yr back. They dont want to allow anyone listening in for security reasons and that transceivers would be able to pick up local law enforcement freqs too.

Hello Guys... I'm back! (Different account, a new start and a more suitable name.)
Sorry it's taken so long, life has and still is very hepatic.
I'm glad you're all still interested, and as of this morning, I have emailed LiveATC to say I can start broadcasting. The quality is far superior to last time, so hopefully it will bring hours and hours of great listening.
Again apologies, but a new name, a new start.
Regards,
Sam

Any idea when it will be back up? :?
Thanks!
-
I am not sure if it will be back.
-
can you please put omdb channel back . :-)
-
It is not simple as just "adding it back." It requires someone reasonably close to the airport to help. Currently we do not have such a person who can help, and I have no resources in Dubai at the moment.
-
I Will Love To Listen !!!!!!!!!! plz plz ! :-D
-
Can someone set up the feed again? I really love to listen to it.
