DFW East is about to go down for the night. There is a NASTY storm headed this way. On my way to my house after work, i saw plenty of lighting. With cable internet, if you dont turn your equipment off, your just asking for a lightning strike right into you comp. eq. Thats how it will be for DFW East anytime there is a storm headed this way.

Starting 26-Jul-05 @ 23:30 till early daylight.

Isn't your cable line grounded to your main electrical grounding rod where the cable service enters your house?  Mine is and I went 'round and 'round with the cable company about this.  Anyway, it's their cable modem that will get fried ;-)

It was pretty nasty. The cable is grounded outside, but a direct hit by lightning or even a surge can travel through the copper core and do damage to your eq. Cable internet modems tend to be prime targets of lightning bolts too. Who knows though. :)

DFW East will be down for the weekend, 22-24 Sep 05, atleast till Sunday morning at the earliest. I will be gettin' outta town, headin' for the hills. Oh and Hurrican Rita doesn't help either. Ya'll have fun.

East Side will be down from Thurs 3rd - Sat 5th. Going out of town.
