A towering wall of dust rolled through metro Phoenix on Monday with storms that left thousands of people without power and temporarily grounded flights at the city airport.
A ground stop was issued at Phoenix Sky Harbor due to thunderstorms around 5:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration. It was lifted about 30 minutes later. The average flight delay was 15 minutes, as of 6:55 p.m.
Three flights were canceled, 104 flights were delayed and one flight was diverted as of 8 p.m., the airport's website said.
