Probably nothing.  It's not creating problems.

Wrong both of you, there will be problems....

Actually right both of us.  It is not disrupting anything other than iceland.  And it isn't expected to disrupt anything other iceland.  The dramatic gloom and doom is unnecessary and unrealistic.

No I'm not kidding and no my head isn't in sand.  What I am, is capable of reading and not falling for your hype.

Perhaps if you bothered to read beyond the headline of this article, you would be more educated on the topic.  Not only is this not expected to cause a disruption beyond iceland's airspace, it is expected to die out in the next several days too.  In fact, the wind is blowing it AWAY from europe.  I suggest if you want to learn the reality of an incident, you read more than the sensational headlines that say what you want to hear.

No.  Because they didn't say it was going to effect anything else either.  You're the only one misinterpreting it and blowing it out of proportion into something that it isn't.

Yup, keeping up with the hourly script changes has been a challenge.   I'd be interested to know why the incorrect initial forecasts. The main theme was that the ash was much coarser than in the previous eruption, so was expected to settle out much nearer Iceland. Did "they" get the data wrong? Or did the ash composition change over the last couple of days?

My guess is they thought of the last eruptions by that volcano and "believed" it couldn't get so worse...  assumptions....

But it's less disturbing than the other volcano and it seems everybody involved has learned from it....
