WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A man threatened to harm himself at Palm Beach International Airport on Wednesday morning, even telling the crowded airport he had a device in his luggage.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call regarding a man threatening to harm himself at Palm Beach International Airport.

Deputies say they arrived at the airport at around 10:30 a.m., after finding the man on the third-level, by the departing area and ticket counters, they attempted to speak to him. That's when they said the man mention he had a device in his luggage, fearing the worst-case scenario, the third-level was immediately shutdown and evacuated.
The sheriff's office said they were able to apprehend the man and the PBSO Bomb & Arson Squad were called in, nothing was found and they deemed the area safe.

PBSO says the man is being held under the Baker Act and will be charged with making a false report concerning planning a bomb and explosive for a weapon of mass destruction and trespass.
