Would this be over the air?

I had a friend on UA1293 (MCO-IAH) tonight, when the pilot came on the PA and said they had to deplane the craft to reboot the computers.
If it hadn't left the gate yet, would the conversation between the pilot and Airbus in Chicago been over the air, or via a landline?

The time of the "interesting" announcement was around 6:30pm.  I listened to KMCO Del/Grnd/Guard from 6-6:45, and didn't hear anything.

If anything, it would probably have been on a company frequency.
