WALLER COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- An emergency response got underway mid-morning Tuesday in the wake of a plane crash in Waller County near Katy.

Texas Department of Public Safety confirmed the incident near Morton and Cardiff roads, which is not too far from the Houston Executive Airport, in the southeast corner of Waller County.Waller County Sheriff Troy Guidry said 21 people were on board and all made it out safe. One person was sent to the hospital with back injuries.

Fortunately, no one was killed, Guidry added.

Photos obtained by ABC13 show black smoke coming from a field around the scene of the crash.

BROOKSHIRE, Texas – An aircraft with 21 people onboard crashed Tuesday in a field near an airport in Brookshire, injuring one person, authorities said.

The McDonnell Douglas MD-87 rolled through a fence and caught fire in a field while attempting to depart from Houston Executive Airport in Houston in Brookshire near Katy, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

All 21 people aboard -- 18 passengers and three crew members -- were evacuated safely. One person was reported injured.

SkyEye also captured firefighters attempting douse flames of the wreckage, with the aircraft's tail still intact.
