UPS MD-11 Suffers Fire In #2 Engine After Landing

"A UPS McDonnell Douglas MD-11 freighter, registration N270UP performing flight 5X-4 from Cologne (Germany) to Warwaw (Poland) with 3 crew, was on approach to Warsaw when the crew reported they had performed a precautionary shut down of the #2 engine (PW4460, tail mounted) due to an engine fire warning. The crew advised they requested emergency services on arrival, they would stop on the runway to have the engine checked. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 33. Emergency services checked the engine, the aircraft vacated the runway and was taxiing towards the stand with emergency services in trail, when flames became visible out the outlet of the engine. The aircraft stopped, emergency services extinguished the flames.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Warsaw about 15.5 hours after landing."
