Hey everyone - I really am not the foremost expert on all of this (although someday I'd like to pilot helicopters), so I was wondering if someone could help me with this. Is there a way to listen to audio from ATC radio transmissions between Tweed-New Haven Airport and the pilots involved in today's crash in East Haven, CT?
Apparently, there was a mayday transmission sent by one of the pilots and I was hoping to play it back. I checked Tweed's Airport Code on LiveATC, but came up empty-handed (the message said HVN was 'not currently covered'). Can anyone help me out? I would appreciate it! :-)

We do not currently cover that airport. Contact the FAA for further assistance.

I was wondering if the FAA archived ATC audio recordings, as well... do you know if they willingly release them to the public, or is this something I'll need to FOIA?

They do archive most facilities (tower and radar) but not all. You will have to submit a FoIA request.

OK - I will submit one. Thanks for your help with this, I appreciate it!
