DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Video recorded by a witness shows a plane skidding on its belly down a runway as bright orange flames trail behind it at Daytona Beach International Airport on Thursday.
Airport officials said a small, non-commercial plane made the hard landing around 12:25 p.m., forcing the closure of multiple runways.

A user known as Yelvington Jet Aviation provided footage that shows the massive flames and thick black smoke coating the runway. The Cessna Citation Mustang appeared to still be on fire by the time it came to a complete stop.

No one was injured, including the two people who were on board, but runways were shut down while crews worked to remove the plane and inspect the area.

Video shows firefighters rushing to the plane and extinguishing the source of the plumes of smoke. The plane stopped smoking about a minute after first responders arrived on the scene.

Airport officials are asking anyone traveling through the airport Thursday to check with their individual airlines for updates on flights. Around 3:30 p.m., American Airlines canceled all of its flights at the airport due to the hard landing and bad weather.

The secondary runway 16/34 was reopened at about 5:15 p.m.
