Clay County Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a downed plane in the area of the 7100 block of County Road 214 Wednesday.

A report from Florida Highway Patrol says the plane was attempting to land at the Keystone Airport in Starke.

The pilot said looking at GPS, he thought the runway was below him, but as he was landing he saw cows, the FHP report said.

He began braking to avoid colliding with the cows, but skidded on landing and overturned.

The aircraft came to a final rest overturned on its roof.

No injuries occurred in the collision.
