OMAHA, Neb. —
A plane reportedly made an emergency landing at Eppley Airfied, authorities said.

According to Eppley officials, a United Airlines flight left Los Angeles headed to Newark landed safely at Eppley Airfield Wednesday evening.

The plane was experiencing fuel problems, officials said.

Authorities said passengers are still on board the plane as it is being checked to determine if it is safe to continue. According to authorities, the plane is a Boeing 757 that could hold up to 200 people, but did not specify how many passengers were on board.

The plane was never on fire, officials said.

A spokesperson for United Airlines issued the following statement:

United flight 378 from Los Angeles to Newark diverted to Omaha and landed safely following a fuel issue. There were no injuries reported and we have transported passengers from the aircraft to the airport terminal. Customers will continue their journey on a new aircraft, which is expected to arrive in Newark early Thursday morning. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience caused.
