Remarkable actions on the part of all crew involved in this.

Yup! >>> Light of day, home airport >>> And low on fuel ( good idea for belly landing ). Plus repairs by home mechanics and land at a very familiar airport, familiar language, familiar procedures and company and company mechanics ( who are familiar with that specific aircraft ) on-line for advice. All in all putting everything possible in favor of a successful landing! Which turned out to be the case.
Worked out to be good aeronautical decision making on the PICs part.
WILL WORK FOR FLIGHT TIME!

Capt. Tad Wrona hailed as hero, compared to Sully (Captain C.B. "Sully" Sullenberger, US Airways flight 1549). This clip contains an interview with a passenger and video footage from inside the B767 as it touches down.
