Appears to have suffered an engine failure on takeoff and failed to maintain any altitude.

Another 30 metres and it would have impacted across an 8 lane freeway at the end of the morning peak.
Haven't located relevant info on the feed as yet (still at work).

It would appear that the relevant parts of the feed archive have been taken down.

I think that the feed was just not up. I initially got to the feed about 1hr after the accident and there was no feed for the previous 6 or so hours. Presume that the feed was just down. Would need Squak7700 to confirm.
Relevant transmissions would be a few minutes before the 2200 feed starts.
Also not sure what freq's the feed covers. I don't believe Essendon departures are on the feed anyway.

Yes that might be all it is. Not sure if that feed even covers the emergency frequency or if the pilot would have had time to switch to that frequency.
