A United Airlines flight departing Denver Sunday returned to DIA following a mechanical issue with an engine.

United Airlines flight 293 departed Denver International Airport around 7:50 a.m. for Orlando when the engine issue forced the crew to return and land about an hour later.   By: Jeff Anastasio

A United Airlines flight departing Denver Sunday returned to DIA following a mechanical issue with an engine.

United Airlines flight 293 departed Denver International Airport around 7:50 a.m. for Orlando when the engine issue forced the crew to return and land about an hour later.

Video shared by passenger Bobby Lewis showed a piece of the Boeing 737’s left engine cover appear to partially detach. The plane's flight path circled before returning to the airport, according a map from flightaware.com .
