They're not, if the gate agent is doing their job. I quit flying AA 3 years ago because their airline became so intolerable.

FBI agent Nelville Flynn (Samuel L. Jackson) boards a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles, escorting several bottles of booze and alleged Duty Free Cigarettes. An on-board assassin releases a drunk with cigarettes, in an attempt to to scare Otto. Flynn and a host of frightened passengers and crew must band together to survive.
