Delta Connection CRJ Stuck In Mud At KHOU
« on: March 11, 2013, 03:54:31 PM »
News clip says  Delta Flight 4302 operated by Pinnacle Airlines "veered off the runway"...according the the news article for NBC, the aircraft was "returning to a gate at Houston's William P. Hobby Airport got stuck in the mud at the edge of a taxiway."

"Airport officials say no one on Delta Flight 4302 -- bound for Atlanta at 6:45 a.m. Monday -- was hurt during the return when the pilot reported a communication problem."

"Delta spokesman Joe Williams says the Delta Connection flight, a Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft operated by Pinnacle Airlines, Inc., was carrying 76 passengers and a crew of four."

Classic media over-dramatization...sounds to me like the aircraft taxied out for departure, discovered a communication problem, and decided to return to gate. The aircraft departed the taxiway, and got stuck. The news story said the runway was closed temporarily, my guess would be the aircraft was partially blocking, or at least over the hold-short line, for the active runway.
