Close Call JBU206/Learjet at KBOS
« on: February 28, 2023, 19:42:00 UTC »
JBU206 enroute from Nashville to Boston was about to touch down on Runway 4R Monday evening when HPJ280 (a "Hop-a-Jet" Learjet 60) was told by the KBOS tower to line up and wait on a crossing runway (Rwy 9).  Apparently, the Learjet took the runway and, instead of holding position, started its takeoff roll in front of the arriving JetBlue flight.  JBU206 was told to "go around" and landed safely several minutes later.  LiveATC audio archives show that HPJ280 was instructed to "line up and wait" on runway 9.  The FAA is investigating.
