In the version of the video the guy who is filming it is a pilot, and after a while, he starts to say "holy shi.." over and over.

Is there something about the configuration of the plane that is visible from the outside that would lead him to believe that the plane is not going to take off?

I don't know anything about the C-47, but when I watched the video, I noticed that there were no takeoff flaps set.  Possibly the pilot filming also noticed this and realized that the plane was not going to climb?  Just a guess, but it does look unusual as most types of aircraft have some amount of flaps deployed during takeoff to increase lift at the slower speed.
