Bering Air Flight with 10 Passengers Goes Missing in Alaska
« on: February 07, 2025, 15:10:10 UTC »
The US Coast Guard is searching for Bering Air flight 445 after it has gone missing on February 6.  The aircraft, a Cessna 208B Grand Caravan EX, was last seen about 12 miles offshore over Norton Sound.  It was enroute to Nome from Unalakleet and was cruising at about 8000 feet.  Flight tracking data shows that the aircraft started descending while over Norton Sound and tracking data was lost as they were descending through about 4000 feet.  The Coast Guard is searching but so far has not been able to find the aircraft as yet...

The Bering Air flight that went missing was found Friday by a US Coast Guard plane on the sea ice near Nome, Alaska.  There were, unfortunately, no survivors.  There is still no indication as to what caused this accident.
