« on: February 01, 2010, 11:08:55 PM »
Does anyone out there wanna help me out in getting audio clips of the 757 and/or 767 autopilot disconnect sound? I have found pretty much every other airplane but cannot find the 757/767 to save my life. Thanks guys and happy flying!

Try asking on a flight simulator forum, I'm pretty sure somebody there will have what you're looking for.

One place I'd try would be www.avsim.net

Check out this vid. At the 6:06 mark, you will hear a series of beeps...that is the autopilot disconnect on the Boeing 767. Enjoy!

Very interesting...I hadn't heard that until you pointed it out...it does sound similar to the old school Boeing autopilot disconnect, or the beginning of one....I'm not sure what that is. Autospoilers being armed maybe??

I do know for sure that the newer Boeing 757 and 767 use the series of beeps when the autopilot disconnects. You can tell the airplane is being hand-flown after the 6:06 mark...

Here is a better example...this one is a B757 of Icelandair landing at ESSA. At the 7:24 mark, you will see the autopilot disconnect, the three AP ENGAGE lights will go out, and the same sound is heard...

Below is a pic of a B757 panel...

The autothrottle is disconnected at 6:47...
The same sound is heard as at 7:26. I believe it's the same chime for both.

The 7:24 sound is the caution for the autothrottles being disconnected.  There was no sound for the A/P disconnect (silenced it immediately)

6:06 on this one is the same autothrottle disconnect.  7:05 is the start of the autopilot disconnect before it is silenced
