Title: WC-130 Crash at KSAV
Post by: CFD208 on May 02, 2018, 02:41:13 PM
A WC-130 crashed this morning on takeoff from Savannah.  I didn't see any feeds from Savannah Tower.  Anyone better at this than I?

Won't 121.5 have it? What's the nearest feed to listen?

most emergencies don't even use that frequency.

often it's used more as a backup frequency when you can't reach someone on the assigned one.
when you are just cruising VFR you might use it to try and contact ATC as they are listening i believe.
still if you have any frequency of the area you are gonna reach someone faster on that frequency.
