I had no idea what a great demo the Red Arrows put on. In case you do not know, the Red Arrows are the flight demonstration squadron for Britain's Royal Air Force, RAF for short. They are the equivalent to the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds, although I am still partial to the USN's Blue Angels. The aircraft that the Reds fly is the British Aerospace (BAe) Hawk, which is a trainer. Most pilots who fly BAe Harriers or Panavia Tornados usually start out (on the jet level) in BAe Hawks. I've always wanted to go out to a major RAF air base (such as Leeming) and see what I could spot. However, being in the states, I don't have much of an opportunity for that.
