My neighbor works runway ops at ORD. They had 10 closed while they looked for a chunk of concrete that was allegedly sitting out there. In comes an 777 -- UAL 158 from SFO (red-eye) -- trying to land on 10 before they had it re-opened; tower asked them to sidestep to 9R but they were too close in so had to go around.

According to my neighbor UAL 158 has been snakebitten lately; within the past month they've lost an engine on one flight and had a passenger die on another.
