Travolta Flying
« on: November 13, 2007, 07:26:36 UTC »
Just noticed a thread (http://forums.jetcareers.com/general-topics/54814-chatting-travolta.html) over in another forum about chatting with John Travolta in flight over Washington.

Was wondering if there are any archives here containing it?

I've heard archives where controllers are asking if John is "driving", but none with the scientolopilot himself.

Here are some FlightAware results for his 707, N707JT. Before Halloween he was cruising around Florida in it (last stop Greystone, his home airport in Oscala, FL). A flight hasn't been picked up by flightaware since then.

Anyone else know the N-numbers for his other aircraft? I'm sure we could track them down with FlightAware and see if his destinations are covered by LiveATC.

UPDATE: I looked through the thread over at JC, and I saw that his new eclipse jet is N218JT. And right now, it's on its way from St. Pete/Clearwater to Greystone. Must've been visiting family for Thanksgiving. Don't think that flight will be on any feeds.

Another update: I searched through the FAA N-number registry for G2's with N-numbers ending in "JT" and
found N492JT and it is registered to the same company the eclipse is registered to. So that's another one of his birds. And his last flight was from LAX-17FL (Greystone) on Nov. 20th. So if anyone is interested and has the time you could look through the LAX archive for his departure.

707 - http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N707JT
Eclipse - http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N218JT
G2 - http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N492JT

Also, I noticed he's only VFR rated, so he's probably not up front for many of his trips.  :-(

Im not sure where you got your information but my moms best friend works for him and says he flies the 707 and the G2 when ever they go anywhere. As for the Eclipse im not sure as he is still learning to fly it.

Whoops, I read the information wrong. He's only VFR rated in the Eclipse. He only has SIC privileges in the 707. Otherwise, he's got his instrument and multi and is type rated on everything he owns.

I used this website. You can use it to view airmen certification information for anyone who holds FAA certificates. https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/ Pretty weird... if you know their name and city of residence, you can get their address and other information.

He's flying the 707 right now from FL to CA (http://flightaware.com/live/flight/N707JT) if anyone cares/wants to pick up any of his radio calls and post them here :)

Here's a clip of N707JT landing at LAX. Edited for dead air/time.
