Transmission of Possible Terrorist at KDCA

I don't have the necessary tools here to chop the audio file up, but the audio of interest begins at 4:40.  AWE 2032 has a "situation" with a passenger "claiming to be a terrorist."  Chilling audio.  As my boss said, "Flying isn't what it used to be."

Well, I used to watch the TV show Airline USA, where you find frequently angry persons at the desk and sometimes drunk allready!

The way some are being treated is also a worry, some desk crews are really not in any mood, might be in this case drunk, revenge or fear of flying, but that is all a guess. Might be a conversation where he felt treated like a "T*rr**st" .

Really hope this story will be brought out to us "enthusiasts".

STORY HIGHLIGHTS
Authorities say a man claimed to be a terrorist Officials say the man might have been trying to get off a stuck plane. The plane returned to its gate.

Washington (CNN) -- Law enforcement officials are questioning a man they say claimed to be a terrorist in what might have been an attempt to get off a plane stuck on a tarmac at Reagan National Airport, authorities said Thursday.

US Airways Flight 2032 was preparing to depart for Boston from the airport near Washington when the plane returned to the gate because of an "unruly passenger," said Rob Yingling, spokesman for the Washington airport authority.

Government sources, who declined to be quoted, said the passenger made an inappropriate comment.
The plane, an Airbus 319, returned to Gate 44 where it was met by authorities, who were questioning the passenger Thursday afternoon.

It became not so clear in this recording, but I thought I heard that girly pilot say there was no real weather or wind or so, but the runway was really wet... that might have caused the delay, where this mr. T*rr*r*st became anxious to get off the airplane... Claustrophobia?

Edited the relevant audio from AWE2032. I'm not sure if there is more audio in the Jul-29-2010-1930Z archive, this was only the Jul-29-2010-1900Z audio. The end of the edited clip has a Police Department vehicle checking in with tower so I added that, everything before that up to the time AWE checks in is irrelevant audio which is cut out.

If this happened yesterday (Thursday) the departures were probably stopped due to the massive thunderstorms that passed over.

That's easy to say in retrospect, knowing it turned out to be no big deal in the end.  However, if you're in the cockpit, and maybe your information is a little confused and limited, in that moment I bet it was at least a little chilling.

AWE 2032: "And for 2032 tell the security coming the cockpit is armed!"
