This is for the newbies and the oldies. If a poll could be arranged and make a list of the top ten audio clips. I know I have heard some pretty outrageous thanks on hear and I wish there was a way we could assemble the best of these clips. Also if there could be top ten in different categories. Best: emergency, funny, upset, jfk, boston and center.

Coming from a former "guy that's been here a while" (gotta email Dave for my password!), we've had quite the collection of clips here. JFK Arnie and Boston John have to be damn near the top, but just a litlte while ago a Toronto guy dropped the f-word and c-word with 66% accuracy. It'll be interesting to see what we get rolling here.

As far as the emergency clip nomination, I vote for the Caravan icing incident over Buffalo, NY, as submitted by Dan (the Buffalo feeder) last year.

That would be one of my top ten emergency.

This one is a really good one. I think both pilot and ATC handled it very well.

worthy of honorable mention:
- the controller from "jfk ground getting mad" above fixing a little mess up on a busy day at jfk "3rd times a charm"
- Boston John's greatest hits compilation: "mocha hagotdi's!"
- Boston Charlie having a fun conversation with Portcar 25 (basically a very entertaining little guy with a think boston accent)

I'd say the pilot asking one of his passengers for oral pleasure while he had a stuck mic at KSQL a few years ago was worthy of mention.

just listened to your top ten... JFK gettin mad, i swear his been siting next to Arnie too long that controller... :-) ive been listening to YMML.. which is the closest Int Airport to where i am, and even Sydney Int or Kingford Smith, man us Australians have got nothing on your JFK's or anything.. i'll keep listening though.. i'll post something one day :-)

They're are all really good audios, but i have to say my favourite was the ATCO at Vancouver asking his wife, who was a passenger on the Air Canada flight to marry him over the frequency and aircraft tannoy :-o
It was very beautifully excuted and what an awesome way to propose to someone, lets hope they live happily ever after!!! I'm an old romantic at heart:-)

I think there should be honourable mention for the ZYZ controller trying to hand off that one plane to ZUL as well... I don't know if you guys remember this but it goes something like this:
"MF2, Toronto Centre, contact Montreal now 127.87"
27-67 for MF2.
Negative, twenty seven, eiiiighty seven.
"27-47, thank you"
"MF2, negative, 27-87"
"Aaah 27-27, thank you, thank you"
"MF2, Toronto, negative......" and on and on for about 2 painful minutes.....

I'd say the pilot asking one of his passengers for oral pleasure while he had a stuck mic at KSQL a few years ago was worthy of mention.

ok so it worked... man that one still gets me everytime... right up there with Arnie's "you can't just... you can't just..." "you guys should come up here sometime" and "you can't do anything with that plane of yours"

I've just lost my HDD and all the clips I had collected so would be grateful for a collection. Apart from John and Arnie, would like Dead skunk on the runway (Boston I think), Philly tower leaving the porch light on and asking pilots to recommend Philly to their friends and custard tarts from Canada (Toronto centre?).

I recorded that last year and had uploaded it on my old account. Funny story actually, it took me a minute to figure out was going on and I just burst out laughing after a while. "Negative, twenty seven eighty seven...".
