The Odyssey of Flight 1068
« on: September 29, 2013, 12:40:18 AM »
At cruise over the southern DelMarVa peninsula UA flight 1068 from EWR to Bogata gets a pitot heat warning light. Attempts to reset fail, so rather than stopping some place further on the way down, they drive all over the Mid Atlantic states and carve race tracks off the Maryland coast in order to burn off ten tons of kerosene so they can land back at EWR. The flight takes off again two hours later. Only airborne side of conversation recorded. Flight path of what appears to be a drunken stunt pilot also attached.

I don't think John Anderson was the captain of that flight, but I'm glad somebody got the hint  8-)
