SWA8725 test flight to Honolulu
« on: February 06, 2019, 02:44:40 AM »

Trying to fit this under the radar before full commercial service begins, SWA decided to make a little test run today (2/5/19) testing ETOPS on their B738s on a run from KOAK-PHNL.

I didn't catch the initial flight out of KOAK, but it should be in the 1800Z archive here (not sure about the frequencies for NorCal), but here's the archive for the arrival at PHNL. Check-in at TWR is at roughly the 6 minute mark (I'm not in a place to edit the clip). It's primarily uneventful, but unusual to hear the SWA callsign out in Hawaii.

They are going to be starting service from KOAK, KSAN, KSJC, and KSMF to PHNL this year, so this just to test the waters (pun intended) with their equipment.
