Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, C-GGOK, performing flight QK-8276 from Nanaimo,BC to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 23 people on board, was climbing out of Nanaimo when a strong electrical odour developed throughout the aircraft. The crew stopped the climb at FL180 and decided to divert to Vancouver,BC where the aircraft landed safely about 20 minutes after departure.The Canadian TSB reported a cabin air recirculation fan had seized. The fan was replaced.
