AAL178 - pos. engine fire at SFO
« on: April 01, 2010, 07:14:12 PM »
AAL178 was taking off from SFO when tower advised of smoke from right engine.  The flight subsequently declared emergency and immediately returned to the airport.  Audio from SFO Tower with dead air and non-relevant material removed.

It appears, I assume, the crew had no cockpit indication of any engine trouble.
