SpaceX debris rerouting 1/16/25 ZMA26
« on: January 17, 2025, 14:02:12 UTC »
I'm sure there's lots of this on various frequencies from the SpaceX "anomaly" 1/16/25 approx 17:40ET / 2240Z affecting flights out of MIA/FLL and thru Turks & Caicos region, not familiar with frequencies in that area but found this on ZMA26 covering flights south of Florida, so sharing it here.  Controller makes reference to delay of 90 minutes and diversions west about 130miles etc for example AAL1353 had just left MIA for Costa Rica and was diverted to the west after holding south of MIA.

This clip is edited down for time and content which covers 2250Z thru 2325Z.  Controller made general announcement due to "space vehicle mishap" around 2318Z which is 06:45min into the edited clip.
