Vineyard, UT – A small single-engine plane made an emergency landing on the shoreline of Utah Lake Monday evening after experiencing engine trouble mid-flight, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
The aircraft had taken off from South Valley Airport in West Jordan and was flying over Utah County when the pilot began noticing mechanical issues. According to officials, the pilot attempted to troubleshoot the problem and initially aimed for Provo Airport before realizing they wouldn’t make it. The pilot then executed an emergency landing along the Vineyard shoreline of Utah Lake. Fortunately, both the pilot and a passenger escaped the incident without injury. Authorities confirmed that no one on the ground was hurt.
