Title: SkyWest 5316 Belly landing KLAX
Post by: semperflyer797 on May 11, 2015, 03:42:41 PM
Working on audio from the belly landing of SkyWest 5316 this morning at KLAX.  Final landing was around 8:28 local 15:28Z.  The Initial call was a gear disagree message in the cockpit.  Unfortunately some of the last transmissions between the aircrew and the tower are incomplete.  I don't know if they were transmitting on Guard frequency or what happened.  Also the approach feed is incomplete due to two feeds on the same recording.  Never heard an emergency declared but I'm positive they would have declared one.  Good job by all involved for the safe outcome of the flight.

Good job on the recording! Glad it turned out good for all concerned. Great job by the pilots for keeping the acft right on the center line. :-D

Nice audio. Kudos to that crew, don't think they could have handled that situation any better!

They would not have gone to "Guard." Perhaps an alternate tower frequency.

I listened to the clip again and the last approach controller told them to go to 127.85.  AirNav lists KLAX North complex tower as 133.9 so that's probably why only tower is heard at the end.  Hate it when they do that but it was probably so ARFF could talk to them.
