Space shuttle "looky-looky"

JFK ground seems to turn travel-agency for sightseeing. They did and still do receive a lot of requests.
Here is AAL 167 going for a "looky-looky" (1612z) as the female ATC put it...

I think that the pilots on the ground and the controllers in the tower had the "best seats in the house"!

Space shuttle in NY (part#1/3)
« Reply #4 on: April 28, 2012, 02:24:02 AM »
The space shuttle which never went to space on its final flight arrives in New York piggyback on SCA N905NA...

This compilation features the audio from about 1430z to 1600z, starting just prior the low approach into Newark. I tried to keep as much 'relevant' chatter as possible (whenever readable), i.e. comm to/from any aircraft or vehicle where the "subject aircraft" is mentioned.

Part #1/3

Clip is in chronological order, yet split into three parts of 15 minutes each due to file size. Silence deleted.
General sequence: NY APP (RBV) -> KEWR TWR -> NY APP (ROBER) -> KJFK TWR -> KJFK GND

Just a quick note...I switched over my feed to follow the shuttle comms during the flyover.  This includes the times when they were on 134.9.  I haven't listened to the archived links that were provided so I honestly don't know if this was already included in those edited links.  Just thought I'd mention it.  Sorry, no ground transmissions from my feed (too far away from it all...).

Space Shuttle Enteprise, was carried atop a NASA B747 SCA (Shuttle Carrier Aircraft) N905NA, from Washington Dulles airport, using radio callsign “Bovic 15 Heavy”

What the heck is a "Bovic"??   :?  Why wouldn't it just be a NASA callsign?

Listening to the first clip from stingray0....please tell me someone got a photo of all three NYPD helicopters (PD14, PD15, PD16) on station between the 31's at KJFK.  That'd be a cool sight!
