At 7:10 a.m., officers with the Marietta Police Department arrived in a field behind Henslers Town and Country Market and saw heavy fire and smoke in the area.
Marietta police confirmed to 10TV that the crash involved a private plane. According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, the plane took off from John Glenn Columbus International Airport at 6:40 a.m. to head to Parkersburg, West Virginia.
