Passengers aboard Delta Flight 537 from Los Angeles to Atlanta described what they saw as at least three flight attendants began feeling sick
OKLAHOMA CITY —
A Delta Airlines flight made an emergency landing Thursday at Will Rogers World Airport after some of the flight attendants got sick in the air.
Authorities told KOCO 5 that about midway through the flight, the captain came over the speaker and said they were diverting to Oklahoma City after the flight attendants became sick.

"The head stewardess was actually having trouble breathing at some point," passenger Greg Everett said. "She was seated and using the oxygen mask."

Passengers aboard Delta Flight 537 from Los Angeles to Atlanta described what they saw as at least three flight attendants began feeling sick.

"They told us they were having trouble breathing and that there was something about them being nauseous in heat," passenger Emmy Kelly said. "They didn't give us a ton of information, but I hope they are OK."The flight made the unexpected landing at Will Rogers World Airport shortly after 6 p.m.

All of the passengers and crew got off the plane, and paramedics waited for them in the terminal. KOCO 5 crews at the scene saw three people being taken away from the airport via ambulance.

EMSA officials confirmed that those three were aboard the plane and taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

"Delta flight 537 from LAX to ATL diverted to Oklahoma City out of an abundance of caution due to an onboard medical issue," a Delta spokesperson said in a statement. "We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travel plans. The safety of our customers and crew is our top priority."
