The classic low-wing over high-wing connection!
Happened at the Roanoke, TX airport, a private uncontrolled strip.

Avweb's quick blurb about this accident just published today:

Cherokee Lands On Stinson:  All OK

edit:  Just noticed that this article is reporting the accident took place in Roanoke, Virginia, not Texas.

Dang, doesn't AVWEB check their facts before reporting????  Right there next to Roanoke, VA, in their article is the name of the airport.  A quick check at AirNav shows that airport is indeed in Texas.

This is the second time we here at LiveATC forums have recently called out an error in their articles.  Come ON, AVWEB!  Sheesh.

Nah, facts are optional.  At least when I was consulting and doing light SEO for them last summer, I wasn't directly involved in any of these types of mistakes.  It's amazing how much of this stuff happens on a daily basis in all different facets of media.

Since no one was hurt from this (a couple of egos maybe), how about a little humor - say, maybe some photo captions such as:
1. 'Fancy meeting you here!'.
2. 'I missed the touchdown. Can I try for a field goal?'.

(I can think of a couple more, but I'll keep it clean for now).

I can hear the FAA spokesperson now, "Safety was never compromised."

The subject airport is identifier 52F near Ft. Worth, Texas. Doug Reeves, who manages the VansAirForce.net site, is based at this field and has posted photos he took. He mentioned that the run up area has a row of trees that might conceal traffic on final for runway 35 - especially if they are dragging it in low.

By looking at the Clip, looks like the a/c might be re-useable... after the light damage is fixed of course.
