Saturday 10/4/25 20:20Z (16:20 local) - US Park Police chopper Eagle-2, returning to DC via Zone 2 from earlier call to Great Falls area, requested by DC Fire to assist with SAR for vehicle in the Potomac between 14th Street Bridge and Memorial Bridge, requiring stop at DCA in a south operation landing Rwy 19.
DCA not too busy at the time, JIA5294, UAL1678, ASA4, EDV5310 given delay vectors on Final approach. Eagle-2 cleared the area approx 20:27Z allowing DCA operations to resume, and returned to base at 20:28Z stating DC Fire was handling it.
Update 10/5/25 - A user on reddit researched on OpenMHZ and this appears to have been caused by a jet ski rider's phone sending automatic notification of a crash, but there was no crash. "Jet Ski Shuts Down DCA" is a new one, even for DCA.
