Pilots See Unusual Lights in the Sky
« on: December 06, 2024, 15:25:15 UTC »
On November 15 at around 2130 local time, there were a couple of flights enroute to KDFW that reported seeing unusual lights in the sky.  An Envoy flight (ENY3413) was the first flight to comment about the lights asking first if the nearby Rivers MOA was active.  A Frontier Airlines flight (FFT1757) came on a little later saying they had been watching the lights for quite some time...  The two aircraft were over northern Texas/southern Oklahoma at the time.  There are some sites that suggest that this incident occurred on November 30, however, just a little due diligence would have confirmed that this did indeed occur on November 15.  That same site also indicated that the second aircraft that confirmed the sighting was Spirit Airlines flight 1757 when in fact it was a Frontier Airlines flight 1757.  There hasn't been a Spirit flight with that flight number in four years.  Just sayin'......

Here's yet another incident involving several aircraft seeing multiple unusual lights in the sky moving at high speeds in varying directions, this time near Eugene, Oregan on December 7 in the evening.  One of these aircraft reported seeing them on TCAS but controllers did not see anything on their radar, even primary radar.  The fact that they could be seen on TCAS is very interesting.  This encounter lasted quite a long time; the attached audio is condensed to about 20 minutes.
 You be the judge.
