By now I'm sure almost everyone is aware of the radar/communications outage that took place at the Philadelphia Tracon back on April 28. It occurred in what they refer to as Area C which is primarily responsible for departures and arrivals into Newark Airport. The outage lasted between 60-90 seconds during which time aircraft could not communicate with the Tracon and the controllers could not communicate with the aircraft under their control nor could they see them on radar.
