Title: N445AF multiple runway incursions at KOWD 8/24/2014
Post by: DteK on August 27, 2019, 11:36:04 AM
This happened during my private pilot checkride. The examiner was paying more attention to the radio than he was to my turns around a point.
Audio is from live atc but I can't seem to find it in the archives anymore.
I believe it was a student pilot on his first XC

18:55 -                 is his initial call up to get taxi clearance
23:20 -  24:05 -    incursion #1
25:05 -  26:00 -    calls for taxi to 10, confusion
26:20 - 27:00 -     incursion #2
27:20 - 28:00 -      hold short instruction, reprimand
28:05                     takeoff clearance

The pilot made mistakes and was confused.  But the controller was not helpful.  She sounded like a fishwife.  The goal is to get the planes where they are going, not to get your outrage on.

Pretty certain the controller was a guy.

Controller is definitely a guy who constantly gets called "ma'am" and is known to have a hot head. He may have retired a couple years ago. Have not flown into KOWD in some time.
