Title: N2328R C172SP flys to EWR, LGA and JFK in one flight (4/23/2020)
Post by: bocon13 on April 27, 2020, 02:22:07 AM
Low approaches at EWR and LGA, then a full stop, taxi-back at JFK on April 23, 2020.

Silence and other traffic is trimmed in this clip, but there was a 10 minute stretch on JFK tower where N2328R was the only plane talking... at 1pm... on a Thursday. Sure is strange these days.

I don't know the pilot or anything else about the flight. Feel free to use the audio clip per LiveATC.net's policies.

IIUC https://www.panynj.gov/content/dam/airports/pdfs/scheduleofcharges-jfk.pdf, the landing at JFK cost him only $ 25?! :-)

This same scene played out happened hundreds times from late March to mid-June. It was incredible hearing GA traffic actually landing every day, and it was probably at least twice as much as the airliners. Even some police, news, and military helicopters jumped at this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Never thought I'd see the NYC airports suddenly become GA fields, nevermind for 3 months straight. It was wild seeing aircraft getting cleared for any altitude and straight across the empty short final approach paths. Many bucket list items were checked off this year.

There was also lots of smalltalk and comments on how amazing it all was from everybody. And the airliners were doing way tighter approaches sometimes, as short as 2 miles away.
